As the only organization of its kind in the Kansas City region, Junior Achievement of Greater Kansas City (JAKC) provides educational, real world learning experiences led by the experience and expertise of professionals serving as mentors across the KC region. JA kids graduate and pursue post-secondary education equipped with 21st century competitive advantage compared to their peers.

Over the past five years, the demand for real-world learning programming and experiences in schools continues to grow. JAKC is on a mission to redesign today’s learning experience and prepare today’s youth for tomorrow’s economy. In partnership with the KC community, we will equip the next generation of leaders with the knowledge, skills, and capacity to be successful, providing higher standards of living in their communities and ultimately driving the economic development of our city, region, and nation.

Junior Achievement of Greater Kansas City is seeking a Social Media contractor to elevate and expand the JAKC brand and raise awareness and support for mission delivery through social media and marketing opportunities in 2021.This person will be charged with solving the following challenges and opportunities:

• Increase awareness and recognition of JAKC brand and mission
• Increase charitable giving to support JAKC mission
• Increase stakeholder digital engagement and retention
• Expand upon current brand to reflect a presence and digital culture that is fun, youthful, and innovative

Primary Responsibilities:

• Execute a results-driven social media strategy
• Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging, and audience identification.
• Generate, edit, publish, and share daily content (original text, images, video, or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
• Grows and expands organization social media presence into new social media platforms, plus
increases presence on existing platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, LinkedIn, and
Instagram
• Assist in the creation and editing of written, video, and photo content
• Attend events and produce live social media content
• Maintain unified brand voice across different social media channels
• Collaborate with marketing team to create a social media calendar
• Review analytics and create reports on key metrics
• Assist in the development and management of social media marketing and influencer marketing
strategy
• Adhere to brand standards and ensure brand consistency
• Represent the digital “voice” of JAKC
• Reports progress to Marketing & Communications Manager
• Manage promotion and marketing budget and provide regular reports and updates

Qualifications (required)

• High level of professionalism and commitment to stakeholder (customer) service
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to make decisions on behalf of, and in the best interest of Junior Achievement

• Creative and graphic design skills

Qualified individuals should include a proposed budget summarizing anticipated cost, including
contractor fees and other related marketing expenses. As a nonprofit organization, Junior Achievement
must be cognizant of budget availability and has allocated a budget limit of up to $2,000/month for the
terms of this contract. Please outline within your response to this proposal how many hours per week
can be allocated to fall within our proposed budget. *6 month contract with option to extend beyond
June 30th, 2021.

Junior Achievement of Greater Kansas City is seeking a special event contractor to manage, oversee, and execute annual development and fundraising events in 2021. This person will be charged with solving the following challenges and opportunities:

• Increase awareness and recognition of JAKC brand and mission
• Increase funding (tickets, registration, sponsorship, donations) to support JAKC mission
• Execute events with limited resources and budget
• Increase attendee engagement and retention
• Create an event culture that is fun, youthful, and innovative

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all event logistics and execution. Key events include JA Business Hall of Fame luncheon & reception; 5k virtual race; Play4JA golf tournament; and JA stakeholder annual appreciation event
• Identify, manage, and coordinate all vendors including venue, food and beverage, décor, audio visual, marketing, etc.
• Serve as a liaison between JAKC and vendors, establishing event needs and managing on-event execution
• Oversee event set-up and takedown including vendor load-in scheduling
• Evaluate previous event year run of show as needed and establish overall event timelines and planning schedule
• Evaluate event aesthetic and provide recommendations for space usage, layout, signage, and décor
• Identify event registration systems to ensure efficient guest check-in
• Represent JAKC at all event-related meetings
• Schedule routine status calls with client
• Create and manage event budget, provide regular financial reports, and identify cost saving opportunities
• Coordinate event marketing and communications with JAKC staff and vendors and/or contractors
