JA Champions Provide Kids Hope For Their Future

Image caption: THANK YOU JA CHAMPIONS!

Looking around Kansas City, it is easy to see that spring is finally here. Redbud trees are blooming, the grass is an especially vibrant shade of green, and the unpredictable Midwest weather is gifting us with a few gorgeous sunny days along with our normal April showers.

This season promises new beginnings and I hope it renews your vigor in advocating for the potential of JA kids. The past twelve months have been a long road. You have stood by young people as their families navigated economic turbulence. You have collaborated with JAKC on the journey towards equity and inclusiveness in our community. You have persevered through the uncertainty of a global pandemic and shown kids what determination looks like.

The bottom line is, over the past year, you have planted the seeds of change. Seeds that have taken root, unseen, below the surface. But your time, your effort, and your generosity are about to be realized in a burst of new growth at JAKC, the likes of which we have not seen in the history of our organization.

I am excited to share that in just a few weeks we will be celebrating the arrival of the next step in innovative real-world learning at the grand opening of the JAKC Youth Learning Lab. Over the summer and next fall we hope to welcome children for the inaugural programs at JA BizTown, JA Career Center, and JA Innovation Center.

To say that we could not have done it without you is an understatement. The creation of the JAKC Youth Learning Lab project is a testament to the power of partnership and community spirit. You joined JA Champions across our community to invest in the futures of JA kids and the future of Kansas City.

Because of you, we have weathered the storm. Because of you, we are coming out stronger because of it. You provided JA kids hope for their future. Hope that they will now be able to leverage into action to build a brighter future for everyone. THANK YOU for standing with Junior Achievement and JA kids yesterday, today, and in all the tomorrows yet to come.
