WE DID IT – JA BizTown presented by CommunityAmerica Credit Union and the JAKC Youth Learning Lab presented by the Mallouk Family Foundation are now officially open! JA kids have an entirely new avenue to explore their strengths and their potential…and it is all because of YOU.
Last week we celebrated your commitment to JA kids and the culmination of years of planning, campaigning, and construction for the JAKC Youth Learning Lab and JA BizTown with a ribbon cutting and reception in the new facility. It was a landmark moment for this organization and a turning point for the collective futures of our children and our community.
The grand opening celebration was a much-needed moment of reflection and celebration at the end of this very long journey. It’s a chance for you and your fellow JA Champions to see, in person, what you have created. However, the true test of this project’s success will come next month when students from Academie Lafayette become the first JA BizTown Citizens!
“So what’s next?” you may be thinking. The Youth Learning Lab unlocks a wide array of engagement and learning opportunities for JA kids, and it also creates many new ways for you to champion their futures! The media attention surrounding the opening of the new facility has piqued interest and increased demand for JA programs. Later this year, the JAKC Board of Directors and I will be unveiling a five-year strategic vision that will guide us on the path to grow and inspire every Kansas City young person’s path to a bright future. But for that plan to launch, we need YOU now more than ever.
We need you to volunteer your time and talent – in classrooms and in JA BizTown. We need you to volunteer your resources – more teachers are reaching out to bring JA programs to their students and your financial support is key to fulfilling the demand. We need you to volunteer your voice – to share with your friends, family, and colleagues why igniting a spark in JA Kids is important to you.
This exciting new chapter is the start to an entirely new book where JA Kids become the hero. But YOUR role in that young person’s story is irreplaceable. YOU are a connector. YOU are a motivator. YOU are a source of inspiration. JA kids have opportunities now that will change the trajectory of their lives. Your commitment to their futures yesterday, today, and tomorrow make that possible! Thank you!!
